On the 21st December 2011 the government's proposed cut to the Feed-In Tariff was deemed unlawful by a High Court judge.
The government had stated that the Feed-In Tariff of 43.3p per kWh generated would be cut to 21.0p, this would apply to all 4kw or less installations completed on or after 12th December 2011.
The deadline of 12th December 2011 came before the end of the governments consultation period on the 23rd December 2011.
The court case was brought against DECC (Department of Energy and Climate Change) by Friends of the Earth and two solar installation companies.
DECC's permission to appeal was delayed until January 2012.
