Solar thermal collectors are fitted to the roof of your property, these can be either flat plate or evacuated tube. Solar energy is transferred from the collector to your hot water cylinder; giving you free hot water and reducing your fuel bills.
The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)
The RHI is a scheme for homeowners to encourage them to switch to renewables. The government will pay a set amount for every kw generated. The scheme begins October 2012 with systems registered now being eligable for the payments. Tariff levels are to be annouced soon.......
There is a £300.00 grant available from the government for those installing solar thermal between 1st August 2011 and 31st March 2012. More details can be found on the Energy Saving Trust website.
